Kanpur, India – 23 April 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has officially opened the registration portal for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025 from today, 23 April. Eligible candidates may complete their applications online via the official website – jeeadv.ac.in – until 11:59 PM on 2 May 2025.
This annual examination, among the most competitive in the country, serves as the gateway to undergraduate engineering programmes at the prestigious IITs. The JEE Advanced 2025 examination is scheduled for Sunday, 18 May, and will be conducted across designated centres throughout India.
Eligibility Criteria
To appear for JEE Advanced 2025, candidates must rank among the top 2.5 lakh qualifiers of JEE Main 2025. It is also important to note that a candidate is permitted a maximum of two attempts at JEE Advanced, and only in two consecutive years.
Steps to Register

Log in using your JEE Main 2025 application number (for new candidates) or login ID (for previously registered users).

Enter the required details and upload all necessary documents.

Pay the application fee as applicable.

Review the form carefully, submit it, and download/print a copy for future reference.
Examination Format
The JEE Advanced 2025 will consist of two compulsory papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2 – both of which are essential for a valid score. Each paper will test candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Paper 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

Paper 2: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
The examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode and will be offered in both English and Hindi.
Post-Examination Process
Following the declaration of results on 2 June 2025, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will begin its centralised counselling process from 3 June. JoSAA is responsible for allocating seats across 118 participating institutions, including all 23 IITs. Typically, the authority conducts up to six rounds of seat allocation.
