Kolkata, India – 2 August 2024 – The prestigious National Library of India, a cherished institution among bibliophiles globally, has added a new feather to its cap by hosting the inaugural F5 International Film Festival (F5IFF’24). This trailblazing event, a collaboration between Fest5, the National Library of India, and the West Bengal Pollution Control Board, marks the first film festival in the library’s 188-year history.

The festival, running until 4 August 2024, has received an overwhelming response, with over 150 films submitted from 139 countries. From this impressive array, 12 films have been meticulously selected for screening. The grand inauguration was graced by luminaries such as Moonmoon Sen, Tnusree Chakraborty, Rathin Kanji, Dr. Kalyan Rudra (Chairman, West Bengal Pollution Control Board), and Sourav De, Founder-Director of F5IFF’24.
