The All-Electric Volvo EX30 Luxury SUV Unveiled in Kolkata
Seeking information on the all-electric Volvo EX30 in India? This article covers everything from its features, innovative Scandinavian design, and impressive safety rating to its expected launch and price.
India is currently seeking to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels through a large-scale transition to electric vehicles. A successful transition to EVs which might take time though, could see India positioning itself comfortably in cost-effective, clean mobility technologies among the Asian nations.
When Volvo, the Swedish luxury car major, recently unveiled its latest BEV, the all-electric EX 30, in Kolkata, it obviously set an innovative benchmark for all electric SUVs.
Packed with loads of features with five attractive colour options, Volvo is eyeing a niche segment – young and elite customers passionate about an international immersive experience.
Being assembled at the company’s plant Hosakote in Bengaluru, the company has still kept the price jacket a secret. “We’d disclose it in due course of time and there’s no hurry at the moment,” Eastern India Business Head Arijit Bhowmick told the EIS here during the unveiling ceremony.

Incorporating Scandinavian design and cutting-edge technology, the EX30 has already achieved five-star rating in the EURO NCAP safety test.
“What’s more, its attractive interiors are made from recycled denim, PET bottles, aluminium and PVC pipes and the phone itself will act as the key,” Mr Bhowmick claimed.
The EV comes with an 8-year battery warranty and includes a wall box charger as a standard fitment. Four other variants besides a sedan are likely to hit the Indian market next year, the company spokesman indicated.
