OTT watchlist this week

From space-age rebels and haunted houses to ballet showdowns and tennis triumphs—this week’s OTT releases serve up a smorgasbord of genres. Discover the top new shows and films streaming this week.

Just when you thought your telly couldn’t possibly squeeze in another show, along comes a veritable buffet of binge-worthy brilliance. From galaxies far, far away to ballet slippers and ticking bombs, the OTT landscape this week is more packed than the queue outside Greggs on free sausage roll day. So pop the kettle on, grab a biccy or three, and let’s dive in.

Andor Season 2
Streaming from: April 23 | Platform: JioHotstar

Our favourite moody rebel, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), is back for a second—and alas, final—outing. This Star Wars spin-off, lovingly structured like your nan’s trifle in four neat layers of three episodes, builds to the brink of Rogue One. With old pals like Stellan Skarsgård, Forest Whitaker, and the gloriously grumpy K-2SO popping in, expect tension, politics, and more grim determination than a British queue in the rain. A proper send-off, if you ask me.

Bullet Train Explosion
Streaming from: April 23 | Platform: Netflix

It’s bombs away on the Shinkansen in this nerve-shredder of a remake directed by Shinji Higuchi. If the train drops below 100 kmph, kaboom! It’s like Speed, but with sushi and a ten-figure ransom. High-octane action, a dash of melodrama, and enough tension to snap your knitting needles. Sit tight and hang on—this one’s not stopping at any emotional stations.

Carlos Alcaraz: My Way
Streaming from: April 23 | Platform: Netflix

Serve, volley, and a little slice of the man behind the magic. This three-part docuseries chronicles Carlos Alcaraz’s meteoric 2024—from Wimbledon to the Paris Olympics—without once breaking a sweat. Whether you’re a tennis buff or just here for the sun-soaked Spanish shots of Murcia, it’s well worth a watch. Game, set, and story.

Etoile
Streaming from: April 24 | Platform: Prime Video

From the creators of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel comes a ballet-based dramedy twirling across New York and Paris. Luke Kirby and Charlotte Gainsbourg lead this dance of egos, ambition, and toe-pointed drama. Expect sequins, sass, and more pirouettes than you can shake a baguette at.

You Season 5
Streaming from: April 24 | Platform: Netflix

Joe Goldberg’s back in the Big Apple with more baggage than a Ryanair flight. As he tries to go from creep to chic amidst Manhattan’s glitterati, old skeletons clatter out of cupboards. It’s the final season, so best believe the body count will be as high as your blood pressure. Lock your doors, folks.

Umbarro
Streaming from: April 25 | Platform: ShemarooMe

This Gujarati-language comedy-drama is a right breath of fresh air. Seven women, one trip to London, and a whole lot of fish-out-of-water charm. Think The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, but with more chaat, cultural awakenings, and selfies in front of Big Ben. Lovely stuff.

Dighalipukhuri

Ghosts, goddesses, and a house that’s as welcoming as a wet sock—welcome to Ayyana Mane. ZEE5’s first Kannada original is a hauntingly good blend of folklore and fright, set in a coastal village where the family deity might just want more than your devotion. Spooky, but with style.

Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins
Streaming from: April 25 | Platform: Netflix

Saif Ali Khan as a suave thief? Go on then. Jaideep Ahlawat as a mafia boss and Kunal Kapoor as a dogged copper round out this bling-laden caper. It starts with a diamond and ends with double-crosses galore. Don’t blink, or you’ll miss a plot twist—or three.

Havoc
Streaming from: April 25 | Platform: Netflix

Tom Hardy returns, brooding and bruised as ever, in this gritty Gareth Evans thriller. A dodgy drug deal, a missing politician’s son, and more bone-crunching fight scenes than a pub on match day. If you like your heroes with a five o’clock shadow and a bloody nose, this one’s your poison.

Right, that’s your lot. Whether you’re in the mood for a galaxy-spanning rebellion or a bit of murdery romance in Manhattan, this week’s streaming selection has you sorted. So fluff the cushions, dim the lights, and prepare to lose track of time faster than a British summer.

Telly on, worries off.
