Nephrocare India celebrates three successful years of comprehensive kidney care with a walkathon promoting kidney health. The institute, led by Dr. Pratim Sengupta, aims to combat kidney disease through holistic treatment, prevention, and awareness, while expanding its services across India.

Nephrocare India, a leading renal care institute, proudly marked its third anniversary on the 15th of December with the successful organization of a walkathon titled “Walk for Health, Walk for Your Kidneys.” The event underscored the importance of maintaining kidney health through regular exercise, bringing together around 400 enthusiastic participants, including notable celebrities and dignitaries.

The walkathon commenced at Nephrocare’s premises and concluded at Hotel Golden Tulip, followed by a tea session and an inspiring address by Dr. Pratim Sengupta, Founder & Director of Nephrocare India. Among the prominent attendees were Mr. Ram Krishna Jaiswal, Consulate of Maldives; renowned actor and filmmaker Mr. Arindam Sil; mountaineer Ms. Piyali Basak; and Mr. Ashish Mittal, Director of Golden Tulip Hotel. The event was impeccably managed by Map5 Events.

Spreading Awareness for Kidney Health

In his address, Dr. Sengupta highlighted the institute’s commitment to holistic kidney care and prevention of kidney disease. “For a resource-constrained country like India, prevention is always better than cure,” he stated. Dr. Sengupta stressed the role of lifestyle changes, especially 30 minutes of brisk walking daily, in combating lifestyle diseases that often lead to kidney ailments.

He further shared Nephrocare’s ambitious vision to establish 300 comprehensive kidney care units across the nation to touch close to one million lives in the coming years.

A Holistic Approach to Kidney Care

Nephrocare India has redefined kidney care by integrating scientific treatment with a holistic approach. “We recognize the human body as a composite of physical, mental, spiritual, and energy dimensions. Addressing only physical ailments without considering these interconnected domains is insufficient,” Dr. Sengupta explained. At Nephrocare, patients are treated with compassion and care akin to that extended to family members, ensuring a personalized and empathetic healthcare experience.

Mascot “Mr. Nephrocare” Amplifies Awareness

Launched last year, Nephrocare’s mascot, “Mr. Nephrocare,” continued its mission of raising awareness about kidney health. The cheerful figure visited various city landmarks throughout the day, engaging the public in conversations about the importance of early detection, routine kidney tests, and holistic treatment options.

Kidney disease remains a growing concern in India, with 1 in 11 individuals at risk of developing renal failure. Leading causes include diabetes, hypertension, and painkiller abuse. Tragically, the disease often goes undetected until it reaches an advanced stage, requiring extensive medical intervention like dialysis or transplantation.

Nephrocare India stands as a beacon of hope, addressing this silent epidemic with its cutting-edge facilities and commitment to prevention. From launching a new multi-specialty hospital, Vivacity Multispecialty Hospital, in Madhyamgram to being listed on the SME IPO earlier this year, Nephrocare continues to expand its services to tackle India’s renal health crisis head-on.

A Future Rooted in Care and Innovation

As Nephrocare India celebrates three transformative years, its focus remains unwavering: providing affordable, compassionate, and comprehensive care to those in need while spreading awareness about the importance of kidney health. With its expanding footprint and visionary leadership, the institute is poised to make a lasting impact on the healthcare landscape of India.
