Does India have a chance to win T20 World Cup?

Indian cricket fans are eagerly awaiting the T20 World Cup, hopeful for a second trophy since the 2007 win under MS Dhoni. Despite a strong squad, debates arise over selections, with notable exclusions like Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. An analysis by a young cricket enthusiast.
Indian cricket fans are excited as the T20 World Cup is around the corner. If India wins this World Cup, it will be their second T20 World Cup trophy after the famous win in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
The India squad for the prestigious cricket event is good but there are some spots that are debatable. India should have taken Subhman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Rinku Shingh in the squad, as they are fantastic T20 players.
In T20 cricket, Rinku, one of the best finishers in the world, helped India achieve some targets that looked impossible in the beginning. Not only in the IPL, Rinku has proved his mettle for the Indian T20 team whatever little opportunity he has got so far. So ignoring Rinku was an unfair decision. Rinku should have been in the squad in place of out-of-form and injury-prone Hardik Pandya. Probably Indian selectors have taken Hardik as he is an all-rounder and his bowling skill might come in handy if the regular bowlers bowl poorly.
Though Indian selectors have selected Dube who has a wonderful hitting ability, but his bowling is not up to the mark in International cricket. Another player who should have been in the squad is Subhman Gill. Yashasvi Jaiswal has talent but Gill is an experienced player as he played in the ODI World Cup for India. Jaiswal played T20 series against Australia’s second-string team but this is the World Cup, and the main teams will be there. So, it will be tough for Jaiswal to perform well. Another thing that goes in favour of Gill is his current form. Gill also scored two centuries in this IPL but Jaiswal has one. Another player who missed out is Gaikwad. I think he should have been in the squad in place of Virat Kohli because Virat is not a great T20 player. He is a pure ODI and Test player. He can struggle against the spinners on the spinning tracks of the West Indies.
The chances of winning the World Cup with this squad are good but if Virat does not play fearlessly, there will be a problem. Rohit and Jaiswal can score a lot of runs but they get out easily. And Virat has to come in the pitch and has to hit like Rohit. He is there in the squad only for his experience. He can be made as an opener in place of Jaiswal.
Hardik Pandya is a good bowler but not a good finisher. Dube is a good finisher but his bowling is not up to the mark. SKY is really a good T20 player. If he is in form, he is the best player. Pant made an amazing comeback after a horrific road accident. This is one of the best comebacks ever in the history of cricket.
India’s bowling line-up is good, they can create pressure against any good team. Meanwhile, the pitches of the West Indies are ideal for spinners. So, if we include more spinners there will be a chance for good performance. That’s the reason the selectors have included four spinners in the squad. Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most accurate bowlers. He doesn’t let the batsman score runs heavily. When Jaddu bowls, he doesn’t let the batsman take a rest. He bowls constantly. So, he can create pressure and take wickets easily.
Axar Patel is a very good spinner as he has taken the wickets of many batters with his spin bowling.
Chainaman Kuldeep is a fantastic wrist spinner along with Yuzi Chahal. They are amazing players. They can get anyone out with their guile. And the West Indie’s pitch will be very helpful for them. And that will be a piece of cake for them.
Conclusion:-
The pitches of the West Indies are slow and the pitches of the US are unknown to us. There can be roughs, which can be suitable for spinners. This is the reason Team India has included as many spinners as possible. India has got four very talented spinners in their kitty. If the pitches start supporting the spinners, we have got a great chance of winning the T20 World Cup for the second time after a gap of 17 years. We will have to wait till 29th June to know this.
