Bollywood star Alia Bhatt is set to make her Cannes Film Festival red carpet debut in 2025 as the global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, joining Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and other global icons for a dazzling celebration of cinema and beauty.
Hold on to your fascinators, darlings, for Bollywood’s sweetheart Alia Bhatt is packing her designer heels and heading to the French Riviera! The 32-year-old actress is all set to make her oh là là red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year as the freshly minted global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris.
The glitzy affair, set to unfold from 13 to 24 May, will see Alia Bhatt joining the Cannes veteran and fellow desi diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who’s practically on first-name terms with the festival by now. One can already imagine the paparazzi losing the plot, juggling between ‘Queen Aish’ and the new kid on La Croisette.
Speaking with the excitement of someone who’s just been handed the last vada pav at a high tea, Alia said,
“There’s something absolutely special about firsts — and I’m so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression.”
Of course, she didn’t stop there. In proper Alia fashion — part philosopher, part pop icon — she added:
“To me, beauty is about celebrating individuality, confidence and self-worth. It’s limitless, it’s unique. I’m proud to stand with a brand that celebrates every woman’s journey and empowers them to shine in their own light.”
Bravo, Alia. One can only hope the weather at Cannes behaves better than a Mumbai rains — though frankly, we wouldn’t put money on it.
Dario Zizzi, the head honcho of L’Oréal Paris India, was also spotted waxing lyrical:
“Alia’s debut not only reflects the rising influence of Indian cinema but also our brand’s enduring commitment to celebrating diverse beauty and empowering women across the world.”
Translation: “We’re chuffed to bits to have Alia on board, and Cannes just got itself a lot more sparkle.”
Joining Alia on the L’Oréal Paris carpet will be a veritable smorgasbord of global glamour, including Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Simone Ashley, Elle Fanning, Bebe Vio, and Yseult. Quite the ensemble.
All eyes will be on Alia as she sashays down the red carpet, quite possibly causing a minor stampede in her wake. And if we’re lucky, she might just throw in a wink, a twirl, and a little Bollywood tadka to leave the French utterly flabbergasted — in the best way, of course.
So there we have it — Cannes, cameras, and a colossal moment for Alia Bhatt. Let the lights, beauty and action commence!
