Lakshman Rekha 2.0

Lakshman Rekha 2.0 isn’t a mythical line; it’s a modern guide for the independent woman. In a world where dangers are subtle, this re-imagined boundary emphasizes self-preservation and unwavering vigilance against contemporary threats. A poem by Manan Banik

Girl….
Listen with your soul….
If you are an independent woman …..
Living alone, chasing distant dreams under unfamiliar skies —
“Draw your own … Lakshman Rekha”

Not the mythic line from epic tales….
But a blazing perimeter of awareness, of resilience, of unapologetic , self preservation…

Because in this century—

“Ravan doesnt come in golden chariots…”

He doesn’t have ten heads.
He has a ‘LinkedIn profile.’
A charming smile…..
A seat beside you on the bus…..
A number saved in your phone….

Today’s Ravan comes in fragments —
The boss whose gaze lingers too long…..
The neighbor who greets you with syrupy malice……
The uncle who hugs a second too tight…..
The friend who hates hearing“no” putting thy heart into guilt…..

This isn’t abduction into palaces…..
This is infiltration into boundaries…..
“But these Monsters??”
They don’t stop at the line.
They shatter it…
They mock it…
They torch it….

“And Ram?”

Ram won’t come….
Not in a world where justice is blindfolded….
And help often arrives as a hashtag….

So etch the line yourself….
With your instincts as your compass…..
Your “NO” as your shield…..
Your silence as a roar when needed……
Your vigilance — constant, sacred……

Because protection is no longer celestial.
It is deliberate…
It is daily….
It is ‘yours !’

Stay audacious…. Stay viligiant….
Stay untouchable….
Because you are a shrine….
And no one —
NO ONE …. —
has the right to Massacre thy holy spirit…
